Meet Karen

A mom of two who thought the answer was less food

Karen is 37, running her own business and a household with two kids.

She was at the gym on and off. She never weighed herself.

By the time she signed up, she was living on coffee, eggs, and whatever fit between drop-off and pick-up.

She expected Michelle to cut her calories.

Michelle did the opposite.

I know this is the foundation that's gonna get me going in every part of my life.

The real change

Who she was. Who she is.

The scale is the least interesting part.

Before

September 2025

  • Fed everyone before herself. Lunch was whatever fit between drop-off and pick-up, if anything.
  • Believed less food was the answer.
  • All in at the gym for a stretch, then gone for a stretch.
  • Went by feel. Never the scale.
  • "Completely lost" on how to eat for the body she wanted.
"I really just want to shape my body this time. Like, actually see the actual results." Karen, sign-up call
After

Today

  • Eats to fuel, not to shrink. Nearly double the food she started on.
  • Steps on the scale every morning and reads it as data, not a verdict.
  • Shows up three days a week and checks in every week. Not perfect. Consistent.
  • Keeps 10,000 steps a day because she wants to.
  • Her husband didn't want her doing online coaching. He is very happy with it now.
"Was this process completely linear? No. Was she super consistent when it came to food? Not really. But she checked in every single week." Michelle

How it happened

Food went up for five months.
Then the Sculpt.

  1. September 12, 2025 · 142 lbs
Start at 1,200 calories, up from about 900
Reset phase. Three strength days, 7,000 steps, no cardio.
  2. October to November
    1,300, then 1,400, 1,500, 1,600
Calories raised almost every other week. Body starting to change with no deficit.
  3. December 14
Up to 1,700, then 1,800 through the holidays
8 lbs down by the end of the Reset, eating twice what she started on.
  4. January 25, 2026 · 134 lbs
First cut: 1,800 down to 1,600
A 200-calorie drop, and nothing else changed for weeks. The scale started moving again: 133, 132, 130.
  5. March 29 to April · 128 lbs
    Steps to 10,000. Food untouched.
The deficit came from movement, not from taking food away. Another ten pounds gone through the whole first sculpt block without a single macro change.
  6. Sculpt, part two · 118 lbs
A short, agreed three-week push, then calories straight back to 1,600
Same food carried her to 122. Karen was getting ready to move and was ready to push, so she and Michelle agreed to a brief drop to 1,200 for about three weeks. She hit 118 and food went straight back up. Now building muscle.

Why start by eating more?

Karen's body was running on 900 calories a day.

Training hard on that is how people stall.

Five months in the Metabolic Reset rebuilt her metabolism, her energy in the gym, and her habits.

So when the cut finally came, it only needed to be 200 calories.

That is the Metabolic Reset. Every BIA client starts there, whether they come to us under-eating or over-eating.
